Tasty Soy chunk gravy in less than 15 minutes - Experiment turned delicious
Tasty soy chunk gravy prepared in very less time. I did this with what was available with me and started as an experimental vlog. It turned out very delicious.
Recipe.
soak 10 soy beans and 10 cashews in water for set if aside for 10 mins. In the mean time cut one onion, 1 tomato and put it in a blender. Add the cashews soaked. Add some corriander leaves. Add some chilli powder 2-3 spoons and some salt. blend well without adding any water. Transfer the blended mixture to a container and soak the soy beans in that and set is aside for some time. I took a break for half hour. Then heat a pan. Add some ghee and pour the mixture in that and boil till the mixture becomes like a thick paste. Taste it before it becomes a thick paste and correct if any salt or chilli powder needs to be added. It is done. I ate it as such and it tasted awesome. You can choose to use this as a side with roti or rice if you prefer.

How to create realistic materials in Blender - Notes from blenderGuru
Blender notes for myself and other Blender learners
Image texture goes to diffuse shader which goes to surface of material output.
gloss shader is mixed with diffuse shader using mix shader before going to surface of material output.
The above is the base config.
Bump
map
Two
types of bump maps
Black
& White
Black
and white version of the image -> take non color data from it and add it to
the height input of bump node. The normal output of bump node is fed to normal
input of the both diffuse shader and glossy shader.
Normal
maps (needs special s/w and hence not covered now)
Reflection
map
Black
and white version of the image with high contrast -> take non color data
from it and add it to the factor input of the mix shader (of diffuse and
glossy).
Displacement
map
The
surface needs to be subdivided and subsuf modifier added. Below subsurf add
displacement modifier and give a new texture. In texture tab add the image (b/w
with even higher contrast at the main crevices – large scale displacements).
Test all these with a blue luminous sphere.

End of Campaign!
Dear Friends,
At 9.30 a.m IST today, my campaign officially ended and this is the mail that I got from Kindle team at 9.31 a.m
"Thank you for submitting MIBU & The New Millennium to Kindle Scout. The nomination period for your campaign has just ended and we are reviewing your book for possible selection. "
Later this afternoon, I got the final stats updated and it looks like this.
A steep increase in yesterday's views - 334 views. I'm very grateful to Saravanan Ganesan for reaching out to RCLADM and other units in Chennai and abroad in my support on the final day. Sara, thank you for also reaching out to your friends and social circle outside of work.
My close friend Vinod Vijayakumar had assured to be my campaign manager at the beginning of this campaign and he did a very good job of devising strategies for a large reach. He pulled in people to get ideas. Provided invaluable gyan in marketing. I wouldn't have done a few things if not for his advice and I'm glad I did. He reached out to big shots for support and even changed his FB cover!
More than just a support, Mohanraj Mahi kinda owned this campaigning from the very beginning and did an aggressive marketing throughout via facebook. He also reached out to popular facebook forums to spread the word. Thank you so much Mohan!
Abishek Tripathi- the face of the people team. Thank you for repeatedly featuring my book and sparsh profile in the floor. Also thanks for sharing the campaign link in multiple forums.
Rajesh G - thanks for all the follow ups with the team to get the nominations.
Hema - thank you for your suggestion in getting this campaign featured in sparsh. It definitely added a significant contribution in the total views.
Prasad - Thanks for trying to reach out to smileSettai group for a promo.
Rija - Thank you for campaigning on my behalf at onsite.
Sumit - Thank you for your support and following up with your friends for nominations. Each of those nominations matter.
Vamsi Tellekulla - he was a regular reader of my original story and first follower in my author page. His frequent comments and feedback did play an part in giving me the courage to try a book version in the first place. Thank you Vamsi for your review as well.
Sasirekha - another friend and a reader in my Infyblogs who had given me regular feedback on my writings few years back.
Sharmistha, Rajendra and Jitha - Thank you for campaigning this in your respective DCs.
Thanks to my team members in HRSF and BNSF offshore team in general who had nominated and shared among their friends for them to nominate.
Special thanks to Vijay Anand and Sahithi for the support and sharing this among their friends.
Thanks to my friends who supported by repeatedly sharing and or liking my posts and spreading the word in facebook.

Apologies for I'm sure I have missed many more names. Some of you have supported silently. Thank you all for your love and support! I recommend you all liking my page https://www.facebook.com/shanY2K/ for further updates on this book. This is also a way for me to plan sending you this eBook for free even if my book doesn't get selected.
As always with any venture, I've enjoyed support from my parents, sister and my wife. My father helped with reviewing the draft and suggested lots of corrections which I'm yet to fully incorporate. I will have to do that if this gets selected. Each one of them reached out to their circles to gather support for this campaign. I wish this gets selected for all your efforts!

https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/J630TU3L4VW7

The Kindle Scout Campaign
A week back I submitted the complete manuscript of my novel MIBU & The New Millennium to Kindle Scout. They approved for a launch on 4-May for a period of 1 month.
Here is the link to my Kindle Scout campaign page: https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/J630TU3L4VW7
What do you get? A free copy of the ebook if the book gets selected for publishing. Campaigning was a new experience for I haven't done this before for anything. Asking people to nominate for my own work is not what I'm used to. Attention is something that should be a byproduct of a work good done - has been my belief all along. Maybe I still believe so to some extent. This is one reason, the campaign doesn't seem to go really well. This belief has been changing after researching how marketing usually works. Fellow authors agree that marketing a book is the toughest part (tougher than writing) but without that the book doesn't get noticed at least during the initial phase of their career.
Vinod recently mentioned that even if it is a Rajni movie, Kabali had to be painted on a Air Asia flight to get the attention. No shame, No game.
I'm in the 2nd week of the campaign and here are the stats.
Total page views: 650
Hours in Hot & Trending: 71.
Much of this 'Hot & Trending hours' has been in the first 5 days of my campaign where my facebook friends and my father's friends had shown their support for this venture. Beyond this the number of views drastically got reduced. Kinda stuck how else to get a better reach. who else might be interested in nominating my book. I'm joining a few Goodreads group hoping to get fellow members support. let's see how that goes.
This blog has been almost forgotten for many months. While just browsing my old blogs just noticed that this blog has been constantly getting a good number of views in the past. So, putting a word here again - requesting the readers' time to visit my campaign page and nominate the book if they liked it. With your support my book could be published with Kindle Press.
